HELMUT LANG

I tore this Helmut Lang ad from a copy of VOGUE from June 2003 (does that make this shit vintage?) And I just really like everything about it's aesthetic. The photo is by Juergen Teller, one of my favourite countercultural, alternative photographers and is called 'metallic skirts'. The framing of the photographs slightly abstracts the subject along with the unorthodox fabric the skirts are made from and the strange angle create an image whereby the elements of it's construction are more important than the subject itself, something not often seen in the fashion industry. I like the bold contrasting white text as well by layering it over the image 'HELMUT LANG' really pops out in the image, and as it is a promotional material for the designer it is obviously important that the designers name is prominent.
